In August 2024, SevenCapital submitted a planning application to the London Borough of Islington for the development of the Archway Campus site. This planning application, reference no. In March 2025, Islington Council expressed that it would minded to refuse the application. The Mayor of London subsequently called in the application for his own determination, meaning the decision will now be made by the Greater London Authority (GLA).

Since then, the project team has undertaken extensive engagement with the GLA, Transport for London (TfL) and Islington Council officers and has submitted changes to the proposals and updated technical assessments in response to comments received through the planning process.
